Tallinn tour for cruise passengers

Small group of max 12 participants
Duration: 5 hours, including free time
Tour price: 75 euros/per person

This tour of Tallinn is crafted for those seeking to spend a couple of hours away from the crowds in quiet, leafy areas, whilst also visiting the city’s main landmarks.

First, the Tallinn tour takes you beyond the old city walls…

where you will discover the classic sights in Kadriorg Park, stroll in a highly valued neighborhood of wooden houses and visit the impressive ruins of St. Bridget´s Convent on the bank of Pirita River.

From the comfort of the A/C minibus you will also explore the area of private homes and get a glimpse of life in Estonia, as we talk you through the healthcare model, education system,  dynamics of the real estate market and popular ways to unwind. Getting off the regular tour routes is something you really should do in Tallinn to appreciate its diversity.

You can inspect the legendary „sprat-can silhouette” of the town from across the bay of Tallinn while the tour introduces you to the living arrangements during the Soviet era and the turbulent years of Singing Revolution.

Then we head to the old city and set off on foot through the historic streets.

….In the Old Town

The tour in Tallinn Old Town puts the spotlight on key buildings and events. You will learn about the distinction between Toompea Hill and the Lower Town, and how Toompea started to develop into the centre of authority as early as 13th century.

We’ll take a look at where the Danish flag Dannebrog, the oldest continuously used national flag  supposedly was introduced. The tour route also takes you past St. Mary´s Cathedral. The oldest church in the city is the appropriate site to give you a fascinating insight into the topic of religious beliefs in Estonia.

The last half an hour, we focus on the vicinity of the Town Hall Square and touch upon the significance of trade in Estonia. Tallinn established its international reputation in the Middle Ages as one of the leading commercial centers on the trading route between Western Europe and Russian territories. The Lower town is rich in its charming merchants’ houses, public spaces and original street network.  Little did the aldermen and merchants know that half a millennium later their hometown would become Northern Europe`s hub for digital business and the capital of world´s most preeminent E-state.

The tour of Tallinn terminates at Vene street, where you will find a variety of handicraft shops, open artists´ studios, a few cafes. Treat yourself with a glass of wine and take in the atmosphere…

After some free time, the bus and guide are waiting for you for the drive back to the harbor.
